I’ve been maintaining the Canon 1752 news blog, adjoined to The Okie Traditionalist, having a really good flow of traffic approaching my daily stats for TOT. I siphon through all the news cycle noise, 95% of it, circulated across the Trad Blogosphere, to soberly highlight what I think is most relevant to the Traditional Catholic, not in competition with other news conglomerates necessarily, but filtering out the nonsense.
Check it out here: Canon 1752.
And from that birds eye view, what I’m seeing play out across our screens in real time is the battle between the City of God vs the City of Man, between the Catholic Church and the Novus Ordo church, between pockets of what remains of the free world and the new Communists States of America (CSA), between the Culture of Life vs. the Culture of Death.
In short, an escalating full on political, legal, and social battle between the forces of Christ and the forces of anti-Christ.
Whether that is the clampdown by FrancisChurch on Traditional Catholicism and the True Mass, by the the CSA on pro-life Christians risking their livelihood and social standing resisting the universal Vax Mandate, or the Abortion industry preparing itself for a battle over Roe vs. Wade soon in the Supreme Court.
Heaven is looking down on this and praying we choose the right side in all this. That Catholics will reject the errors of Catholic Modernism, and fight to their face—that is with prayer and social-moral resistance—those partisans of the anti-Christ. Including when necessary certain neighbors, family members, coworkers, even certain Catholics in our circles, when certain sacred Truths are being rejected.
There are solutions. The Mass, sacraments, the catechism. Thank God, for example, for the SSPX, falling neither into schismatic behavior to the right, nor heresy/doctrinal errors/heterodoxy to the left, contrary to its detractors from all sides. What a blessing, St. Michael’s Chapel we attend near us in Oklahoma City, the Shakespeare festival/celebration of the SSPX Sister’s St. Mary’s convent’s 40th anniversary we attended last weekend in the refreshing cool temperatures of Fall, or the Christ the King festival there last Sunday of the month. Come meet the Okie Trad, as I’ll be helping man the Filipino table passing out Torta cakes talking about Catholic culture in my wife’s homeland.
Also, since Grace builds upon Nature, Fall outings will certainly help strengthen the mind and will in this spiritual battle, to preserve peace in our souls ultimately, for us: Tulsa Fair Friday night, Turkey mountain hike on Saturday, Robber’s cave Campout next weekend, fly fish for trout at Marvel Trout camp the following weekend plus Oktoberfest, then Christ the King Festival in St. Mary’s, KS, then a week of vacation in November (thinking Ozarks camping then a few days in St Louis).
Keep up the good fight my fellow Okie Trads and Beyond! Enjoy this Fall weather, all things falling under the philosophical category of “Nature” being the best vaccine.
Pax.
