This in today from the Vatican. Good times. Francis called out online Catholic “preachers” of the Gospel caught up in “certainties” from past “traditions” they adhere to. It was quite transparent who he was targeting.
He said they--we--are spreading a false Gospel. He is implying lay traditional Catholic bloggers, and online priests, are preaching a false Catholicism that is caught up in the past, missing a fresh newness, the kind that transcends Tradition and certainty.
In other words, he believes Traditional Catholicism is a false Gospel, a false religion.
You reader are a likely a member of what Francis-Bergoglio considers to be a false ossified version of the Church.
Note, he was not actually criticizing the traditional Catholic blogosphere for a lack of charity or civility per se, but outright for preaching a false Gospel, which is objectively a lie.
How to respond? With truth and charity.
Francis, we pray you will one day reject your heresies and convert to the fullness of the Catholic Faith. God knows your heart, but you continue to cause great scandal to 1.3 billion Catholics.
And orthodox Catholics do not accept your own false version of the Gospel, a false liberal and modernist version of Christ’s mercy that sets aside the binding reality of Catholic Tradition, the Magisterium even of your recent predecessors Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI, as well as justice, and truth.
We also reject your condescension towards Catholics who sincerely share the actual Catholic version of the Gospel, as constantly taught in the same sense for 2000 years by the Church, in the form of Catholic Tradition. The same Gospel complete at the death of the last Apostle, which cannot be added to or changed. Even by you.
