Please pray for my wife’s cousin Evelyn in the Philippines, fighting for her life in the ICU, intubated unable to breathe on her own. Pray she either survives or has a holy and happy death. She is single, in her 40’s, having struggled for some time with severe mental illness. Recently she had a brain clot followed by brain surgery.
She seems in young enough health to have a fighting chance, and hopefully if she pulls through can get rehab to get back in her feet to continue having a future to do good works, and grow in holiness. She is a lifelong practicing Catholic, attached to the Latin Mass and the SSPX.
When she was younger she has good mental and physical health, once discerned a religious vocation at first in the Philippines with the House of Bethany ran by the SSPX. She was called back into the world, became a physical therapist, and worked for a time in Canada.
Unfortunately, due to several traumatic experiences and factors, including homesickness, loneliness, losing her job then losing her housing, becoming semi-homeless, she during this period basically has a a severe mental breakdown that she never recovered from, returning to the Philippines to live back with her family a very ill, poor, isolated life with very little support or resources.
Since she has lead a Catholic life, it seems she is s victim soul. My wife is right now arranging an SSPX priest to give her Last Rites in the hospital. Will give updates.
We all keep walking through this valley of tears, some greatly blessed with prosperity, others assigned the task of Job, to be a witness to the love of God, and God’s love for us, in suffering.
