Mea Culpa

Mea culpa. I confess some recent faults.  I made a roast of Michael Lofton that was partly uncharitable, removing it.  A few words in the post reporting details about Fernandez’ book were immodest, which I altered.  I apologize and am firmly resolved to avoid any uncharitable or immodest words here.

Despite my reservations, Lofton puts out a lot of good content about the Faith for Protestants and Orthodox.  I trust he cares about the Church and spreading the Faith.   Re Fernandez, also despite my reservations, I will say he may not have malice or the intention to create a revolution in the Church.  He’s sacrificed his life for Christ and the Church.  I will pray for both.

At the same time, we must oppose modernism even when it comes from the Vatican itself.  And we most oppose a blind defense of that modernism in the name of respect for the pope.

The devil is attacking the Church, dividing it, waging war with faithful Catholics, and tempting us to unbridled anger towards the hierarchy and each other.  We must resist that or it can separate us from God.  Love our enemies, while at the same time opposing their wicked ideas.  Not an easy endeavor. Kyrie eleison.
