So effectively ALL abortion is now banned in the great state of Oklahoma.
Governor Stitt deserves praises (should run for President, would make things interesting), signing the bill effective this August. But truth be told, I’ll tell you who deserves the most credit. The entire pro-life movement of volunteers here in Oklahoma since 1973, starting with Tony Lauinger and his wife a physician, who have led Oklahomans for Life driving frequently from Tulsa to the Capitol for decades to advocate for the Sanctity of Human Life. Ever seen their pro-life booth every year at the Tulsa State Fair showing that model of fetal development? Salt of the Earth people, they are.
Also all those prayer volunteers going out to pray at the local abortuaries in all sorts of weather, being harassed, to offer alternatives to expecting mothers tempted to let a “doctor” suction their unborn child from their womb. They’ve been doing this since 1973 with little recognition relative to their hard work. Think of all the volunteers in Crisis Pregnancy Centers across our state, offering education and resources for the sake of offering adoption.
As of this August, if any medical professional helps perform an abortion, within our State lines, except “for the life of the mother,” from conception forward, it is a felony. Per the State of Oklahoma it is now considered murder from the very beginning of life. RvW effectively ignored, based on science. Not just the kind taught in med school embryology, but in kindergarten.
Every pro-life Okie should be very proud this week. Oklahoma went further than Texas, criminalizing providers performing abortion at any stage. This is a landmark decision.
This is also a victory today against every other depraved Leftist movement unleashed on the world since the 1960’s, that has made the industrialized slaughter of innocents in the womb its supreme idol.
Of course the political party of Death is trying to pass a federal law soon protecting abortion across the board, but I see that only contributing to the SC this summer overturning or modifying RvW. My very conservative estimate is at least a quarter million babies murdered since 1973 by surgical abortion, in Oklahoma alone, probably a lot more. Not even counting chemical abortion from abortifacients (huge #). It’s going to take decades to heal the wounds of the abortion Holocaust across our state.
This was a silver lining in the news lately. Deo gratias. One battle won for the life-affirming fellowship of the ring, vs. the dark armies of Mordor.
