I’m going with 1 minute. And I’ll be monitoring that day the Vatican website archive of papal documents to see when the “excommunication” document is posted, taking time stamped screenshots.
I predict that Leo and Tucho on July 1st will be sitting in the papal apartments enjoying a glass of champagne glued to the SSPX International Youtube channel. At the moment the last of the new bishops are consecrated for the SSPX, in Econe, Switzerland, during the actual ceremony, Leo will then immediately sign the document, and Tucho will immediately upload the internet version to the Vatican website.
It might even be 30 seconds, or 15 seconds, depending on if the document is already in front of Leo, how fast he signs it, and if Tucho already has his computer mouse hovering ready to click “upload.”
If so, it gets reported here.Narcissism in Action
I say this of course to make a point, that I think it will be an emotionally violent act of premeditated narcissistic rage, especially in response to all the criticisms the SSPX has made about them, and likewise all the same criticisms made in concert with them by traditionalist bloggers and podcasters. The whole debacle already reads like that. It must be very personal for them, especially for Tucho. Because he’s been called a homosexual, pervert, and a heretic by “people of our ilk.”
With narcissists, when they are criticized by someone instead of solely being praised, when it doesn’t meet their craving for narcissistic supply, that dynamic reveals their dark underbelly. They do not typically get upset with overt emotive expressions, which at the very least would be understandable if not perhaps obligatory, but instead showcase their underlying, hidden violent effeminacy and malice of will in a calculated, premeditated way. They respond by saving face, while covertly mutilating the person’s dignity, peace of mind, and social standing. To ostracize them. To get others to ostracize them. To make it feel "soul crushing." In a way that is so insidious and subtle that most of the enablers will overlook the malicious act and dark deed, and defend the aggressor against the real victim. To “victim blame” or “turn the tables” is a common automatic tactic of the narcissistic person.
Narcissism describes the dynamic of what has been happening, and will happen more sadistically than ever before on and after July 1st, by the Vatican towards the SSPX. The bullies kick around the humble and meek school kid for being upstanding, and for not conforming to their narcissistic sub-culture, until one day they forcefully kick him out of the school.
Real Life Problems for Those Falsely “Excommunicated”
I’m giving it at least a 50/50 chance at this point that 500,000 Catholics attached to the SSPX get stigmatized and ostracized as falsely “excommunicated,” which by the way would include me and my wife, two of her sisters, a number of our friends, and the SSPX Chapel in Oklahoma City where we attend (when we are able).
So be it. If so, officially we will be forbidden from even participating in the liturgical function of the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at a parish close by us, which we often attend, let alone any liturgy under the diocese, including the FSSP or Indult TLM, or to receive any sacrament.
Except if in danger of death. Unless of course the priest knows of your affiliation with the SSPX and its positions and therefore your “excommunication.” You would have to confess and betray the Faith, your conscience, and the integrity of your mind to receive last rites, which would be impossible.
“Until It Happens to You”
The point is, that while of course it’s a no-brainer that in truth it just means being righteously separated from the false, modernist “Ape of the Church,” something to be celebrated with cake and music and bratwursts (which we are planning), on the other hand, because the universal Church IS NOT nor ever could be in a universal sate of sede vacante with the entire ecclesial structure morphing into a new FORMAL FALSE CHURCH, with all the Sees vacant, then the SSPX and likely its laity will ALSO be wrongfully separated sacramentally and socially from the true Church that DOES remain AS the actual juridical structure. Under God. That is the Holy See and all Bishops under it.
A status of oppression they have already endured since the 1970’s, but now on steroids.
In other words, first beware of the fact that sedevacantism falsely poses a situation in which the Hierarchy as a whole FORMALLY defects from the Faith, morphing into a FORMAL FALSE CHURCH, in which case doubt and despair wins and “the gates of hell” have prevailed “against the Church.” Which would make Christ out to be a liar.
Yet, the reality is, it is very difficult to assess outside of the authoritative structure required by Tradition when a pope or bishop has FORMALLY defected. We have no competence or authority to publicly judge that with certainty.
Therefore, while the “Ape of the Church” (which is an informal regime of modernism, not the official juridical structure itself, nor the current College of Bishops as such) will be INFORMALLY and NON-JURIDICALLY doing the “excommunication,” BUT SO will the pope and all the bishops who support his decision to “excommunicate.”
It is a two edge sword.
The traditional Catholic then enjoys on one hand being rejected by the Ape of the Church, like being relieved of a long period of constipation, but on the other hand is truly being rejected by the still true official Church represented by the Vatican and all Episcopal Sees. Hence the need to defend the canonical legitimacy of the upcoming 2026 consecrations, try to prevent “excommunication” in the first place, and once again work to have them lifted when the situation in the Church one day should improve.
This situation then is much worse because it means—in some sense—a schism BY the Vatican, or certain of its members, by basing unity and Catholic membership in effect on accepting the conciliar errors. The “excommunications” will not be primarily for apparent disobedience, but primarily for not accepting the conciliar errors to get permission to consecrate.
So certain people IN the Vatican (Leo, Tucho?), and possibly every Bishop who upholds these “excommunications,” with personal conviction, could hypothetically then defect from the Faith themselves because the now soon to be formal schism is between 1) those who impose on Catholics the conciliar errors, like they are dogmas, and 2) Catholics faithful to Tradition.
If you “excommunicate” a group for being orthodox, because you are not, that might mean your “excommunication” backfires onto you. At least in a practical way, if not a canonical way. We will have to wait and see all listed reasons for the “excommunication” in the forthcoming document.
How the Great Apostasy in the Church Could Take on a New Form After July 1st
Until now, there has been no official rejection of dogma, so adhering to the conciliar errors themselves isn’t formal heresy. BUT, when they effectively make their acceptance a pre-requisite to be “in full communion with the Church,” not just as an organization, or to be allowed the Latin Mass, but especially for each individual, whether a priest, religious, or lay person, then that is elevating these lower level “teachings” which are erroneous (ex: that Catholics and Muslims worship the same God, or that the death penalty now is absolutely impermissible) to the level of pseudo-dogma, and therefore suggesting possible new formal heresies—on their end. At least by those who rigorously and obstinately will uphold the false “excommunications,” on FALSE, DOCTRINAL GROUNDS.
My brain admittedly can’t work out at the moment, nor do I want to, how this all plays out ecclesiastically, specifically in the months and years ahead, beyond what I’ve already said. Except to observe that an unprecedented formalization of “excommunication” of the ENTIRE SSPX, PRIMARILY ON DOCTRINAL GROUNDS, now would represent IN EFFECT a FORMAL rejection once and for all of those timeless traditional teachings in question (pre-council) reversed by and since the Council.
AND it also represents a FORMAL schism from the traditional Church, both of 2000 years, and in so far as it is primarily being preserved today by the Remnant, by the very few remaining faithful Catholics, whether attending the Latin Mass or the Novus Ordo.
This is why this situation is much worse than a shrug-your-shoulders-life-goes-on kind of moment, or a mere return to how things were after the 1988 consecrations, that is the long, nauseating, uphill battle to appeal to Rome (and those who are anti-SSPX) 1988-2026, but now an arguably historical paradigm shift in the state of the Church.
Any (putative) pope, cardinal, or bishop who publicly and certainly defends and upholds these unholy, diabolical “excommunications,” especially on the DOCTRINAL grounds, asserting the SSPX positions now breaks “full communion” with the Church, could then be questioned if they themselves have as a consequence formally defected. And therefore themselves broke communion with the Church.
By in effect treating the conciliar errors as if they are dogmas which therefore would erect a FORMAL, SCHISMATIC, NEW CHURCH, at least for those individuals who end up subscribing to and diabolically enforcing that erroneous doctrinal line.
Therefore, if it hasn’t already been the case with Francis or Leo, after this July 1st, we could be seeing a sede vacante kind of situation start to spread from the top down throughout the Church, in which the informal, not yet officially established “Ape of the Church” becomes formalized by diocesan Sees becoming emptied of legitimate occupants, but still occupied by illegitimate intruders. At least for some.
Let’s put it this way. If a person (bishop, etc) believes the Council’s pastoral, low level statements on religious liberty, ecumenism, or collegiality are essentially dogma, when they are actually doctrinal errors, meaning you must accept them in order to be granted permission for traditional bishops, or else supporting the consecrations will cause you to no longer be recognized as a member of the visible Church, how is that not establishing a heretical frame of mind? How is that not heretical?
Catholic Theology and Philosophy Require Distinctions
All of this is why these analyses going forward require more than righteous indignation and simple rejection of error, but nuance and finer points of distinction. For example, the traditional distinction between formal heresy and material heresy. For this reason, I find it to be most prudent to follow the SSPX theological analysis, due to their training, more than the online pundits, in particular the sedevacantists, hard-lined Benevacantists, and the Ann Barnhardt followers.
The Aftermath Post July 1st
So be it. This will be a badge of honor. But not without severe hardship. Decency and respect for others, to avoid scandal, or division, would dictate for us never again attending any approved TLM in the Tulsa diocese, especially the FSSP, which is one of the most outspoken critics against the SSPX consecrations as “schismatic,” like Cain attacking Abel. This will play out in a similar way for other likeminded traditionalists throughout the Church.
I already can anticipate the pastor responding to my email asking if he/the parish will now bar me and my wife from liturgical or sacramental participation, in accord with the “excommunication,” or do the virtuous and Catholic thing and defend our rights. That answer would certainly be “Yeah, you can’t participate in our liturgies nor receive the sacraments until you reconcile with the Church.
Excommunication forbids it. We follow the pope and the bishop. You must first fully accept Vatican II and the New Mass like the rest of us, (i.e. drink your cup of cool aide like the rest of us), and repent of your SSPX positions. Have a great day.”
And I would email back, “So be it. I will never compromise on Catholic truth, on the Faith, even if that means being falsely excommunicated. And suffering through a solitary, barren, desert-like observance of the Catholic Faith. My wife has the same exact conviction. Good day.”
I know this very well from a combined total of about ten years in the past attending and very much supporting the FSSP, also the parochial TLM, Clear Creek, on top of now 19 years being attached to the Society.
It would be futile to send that email.
Imagine somewhere in the world a large SSPX family of ten children now “excommunicated,” the father’s company relocating him to, for example, Tulsa. They’ve got SSPX bumber stickers on their van. They’ve got friends and relatives who attend the FSSP parish who notify the pastor through the grape vine that “they are SSPX.”
A few FSSP priests out there might ignore the false “excommunications,” but most won’t, especially all the Anti-SSPX Karens. In short, in many different scenarios across dioceses, with few exceptions, a more formal schism will unfold between the formerly Ecclesia Dei groups/diocesan trad groups (the few remaining) IMPOSED on the SSPX Faithful.
How on Earth could someone attend the FSSP or indult TLM in good conscience in this future situation, when they know that when everyone learns they hold the same convictions of Archbishop Lefebvre and the Society, and more particularly were included in the false “excommunications,” then they and their kids would very likely be shunned in one way or another? Likely denied Communion at the altar rail. I know this very well with many stories being on the receiving end. Which is common for others of like mind.
Conclusion
Since Francis gave the SSPX permission to ordain priests while still being canonically irregular, I very much expected Leo to do the same regarding ordaining bishops, once I learned he was meant to be a unifier. Yet, he and Tucho will not even entertain a bilateral doctrinal discussion, to avoid a major division across the Church even beyond the Society. Considering he was elected to be a unifier, to in part heal wounds post-Francis, but only insists on a unilateral exchange explaining to the SSPX the doctrinal weight of each conciliar document to be accepted (requiring ether an “assent of faith,” or a “religious assent”).
By the way, this ultimatum is not only for Vatican II, but for documents like Fiducia Supplicans, approving the blessing of sodomite COUPLES.
In other words, accept the blessing of sodomite COUPLES and therefore sodomy, or NO consecrations for you! If you still consecrate, you get anathematized and hurled into the darkness. Branded with the scarlet letters (Nathaniel Hawthorne reference) SW for Schismatic Weirdos.
Popes John Paul II, Benedict XVI, even Francis himself were never so deaf and hard-hearted to the Society, bringing down the hammer as Leo is doing. I gave Leo the benefit of the doubt coming out of the gate, but dropped all hope or reserved trust in him since he signed the document on Mary, which was like slapping Our Mother in the face. Now with his persecution of the SSPX, I’ve done a 180. If the man is not an anti-pope, anti-Christ figure (???), then he certainly is acting like it.
History will judge how Leo and Tucho harshly brought the hammer down on a large movement of priests, religious, and laity for being faithful Catholics. How he explicitly is demonstrating more than ever before we are dealing with a false Church vs. the true Church.
So be it. My wife and I will be happy to be “excommunicated” from the false Ape of the Church, effectively forced to practice the Faith at home until we can regularly attend again the SSPX. I’m still recovering from a temporarily disabling illness, but in due time, God willing.

And, we will be willing to be persona non grata by the FSSP and Holy Cross parish (TLM), and Clear Creek, because that only means we clearly belong ONLY to the true Church, without one toe inside the Ape of the Church, while they are partially inside the truly schismatic conciliar church.
The true Church is not exclusively represented by the SSPX, but by all Catholics today fully faithful to Tradition, which necessarily includes rejecting the errors of the Council and Novus Ordo. You have to understand those errors and choose. That choice can’t be evaded by intellectual sloth.
Let all true traditional Catholics at approved TLM’s everywhere stand up AT THIS VERY MOMENT. Stand with and defend the SSPX because its doctrinal positions are not really its own, but the traditional, unchanging teaching of Christ, Who is the only way path to salvation.
For those callous to the nuclear aftermath post July 1st, on persons and families, demonstrating an empathy gap, remember the saying—“Until it happens to you.” Mark my words, it has, and already is. And it will get much worse also for the approved Latin Mass communities. The end goal is no more Latin Mass. No more traditionalist societies or parishes. But their approach is incremental. One long gauntlet of gaslighting and Orwellian oppression.

Instead…..let’s unite! And pray for the miracle Leo might change his mind and show charity and justice. Miracles do happen.
THIS, you now see, is WHY I’m writing these recent blog articles on this subject. To add my voice to the collective voice at this hour, perhaps to be heard by the Church authority. And ALSO to prepare for what comes next.
*** Footnote: the “Barnhardt-ites” are people who somehow trustingly and rigorously follow the private opinion of an arrogant, conceited woman on the internet named Ann Barnhardt, because of her in-your-face edginess, which is admittedly at times appealing, that Francis and Leo are absolutely, certainly anti-popes, for a variety of reasons. They tend to look at the Crisis in the Church more through the lens of 2013-2026, with the latest phase of “Francis Church,” then from 1965-2026 with the advent of the “Conciliar Church.” Benedvacantism is the lens through which they often interpret the current scandals in the Church.
An “Indult Trad” is one who attends an approved TLM as a special permission and exception to the rule (Indult), by first accepting the unjust and unorthodox Vatican prerequisites of first accepting the errors of the Council and Novus Ordo. They are willing to commit heterodoxy and blind obedience to preserve their TLM and traditional parish.
