For fun, my brain tells me the next pope will be Tagle, Francis II. He will continue “Francis-Church” with a softer approach, and ease restrictions on the TLM.
Being devout and Filipino, he might shift one day in the direction of Tradition once he sees first hand the core of the “deep church” agenda. He is young enough and flexible enough to one day shift that way, if his pontificate is long. Under him will be official homosexual blessing ceremonies in the church, the envelope pushed even further, lay female deacons, and a new new Mass. And the status of the SSPX won’t change. It will be painful, but a “Francis II-Effect” will ironically help build up Tradition on the margins.
But my gut or sixth sense tells me it will be Sarah, who will choose the name Pope Gregory XVII. He will reconnect with the line of JP2 and BXVI, but also with pre-Vatican II. He will restore Summorum Pontificum and work on a reform of the reform Novus Ordo. He will recognize the SSPX’s critiques as legitimate and renew discussions. He might regularize the SSPX as an Apostolic Administration. He will work quietly behind the scenes from a desk due to age and health issues. But he will bring down the hammer on the “Francis-Church” agenda. It would be glorious.
In either scenario, the TLM communities in the Tulsa diocese will continue to grow.
Last fun prediction, the conclave will start on Wednesday, the next pope elected next Saturday (big weekend media event), coming out on the balcony by lunch time. It will take some time to reach the 2/3rd majority, but not long. I think they already know it will boil down to a small handful of candidates. And everyone and their dog will be glued to their TV and smart phone.
