I don’t have the gift of prognostication, or rather I really don’t have it even though sometimes I think I do. Yet I write a Catholic blog commenting on the Church and world, so why not try? Let’s see what comes true and comment on it here in a year.
1. Pope Francis will approve of non ordained deacons, intercommunion with Lutherans, and make some more drastic decisions against the TLM, such as forcing trad priests to say the Novus Ordo, or completely forbidding it outside of the traditional priestly societies.
2. Blessing of homosexual couples in a public event in front of the congregation will become common, the Vatican clarifying this is allowed, and that it is a blessing of the relationship not just individuals. Some popesplainers will then go trad, but not Michael Lofton who will defend every radical innovation coming down the pike as orthodox.
3. The internet flame wars between Trads and popesplainers will increase, yet there will be even more long form discussions and debates between trad and conservative commentators.
4. Church Militant will close down.
5. Biden will win the nomination but lose to Trump in the general election. But Trump will govern from prison. The Supreme Court will determine he has no right to pardon himself.
6. The war in Ukraine will continue. 50% chance WW3 starts, and we have an economic crash.
7. More concrete evidence for aliens and UFOs presented to Congress. Possibly an actual craft or alien corpse.
8. Divorce rate increases.
9. Abortion rate decreases.
10. The Democrats try double time to steal the next election, again. The Republicans do little to try and prevent it.
