Heading to the Hermitage

Heading to the hermitage with Peanut.  Will check email, texts, and voicemail when I have Wi-Fi and cell access, when I venture into town to buy supplies.  Otherwise will receive visitors the first Wednesday’s of the month between the hours of 7 pm and 8 pm. No need to make an appointment.  Just climb up the hill through the thorn bush grove and expect a warm greeting.

Please do not update me about the news unless Not-the-President Biden has by now issued martial law or the Ruskies have started to invade.  Outside of those hours, be prepared to be shown promptly off the mountain. Hard cider, blue grass music, and philosophical discussion will be provided.  Come if you are sincere and of good will.  If you are not, kindly do not enter the hermitage.  It is a sacred place.  Even if you are wearing a scapular and attend the Tridentine Mass.  I’d rather stare into a fireplace petting Peanut than have social congress with those deeply entrenched in snobbery, meanness, pride, vanity, vainglory, and a hard, cold critical rejection or marginalization of their neighbor.  Because they don't fit their post-modern (not Christian) template of what a human being is supposed to be, in order to render to them the most basic of human respect that is their God-given due (this attitude being the norm up and down the contemporary social hierarchy).  Will be praying the imprecatory psalms God brings them to heaven by means of chastisement at His hands (not mine).  Better to work out my salvation within the peace of a tiny few, or with the squirrels, than with those kind of people Padre Pio would have (and did) drive out with righteous indignation.  Got to go outside and chop firewood.  Happy Labor Day. It’s almost Fall.
