Cupich required the Institute to sign in writing that the Novus Ordo is the only true form of the Roman Rite, or he'll suspend their Masses as of August 1st.
They refused on the grounds that the Traditional Mass is their charism.
As of today it is official. The Institute is obeying by discontinuing their public Masses and confession.
Parishioners will now be deprived of Mass, the Eucharist, and Confession.
Cupich is Francis' right hand man in the US, implementing TC and the Guidelines. Not only in Chicago. I expect this to happen soon in the Tulsa Diocese, and the rest.
So be it. We will worship outside of the churches occupied by these practical apostates, as Catholics did before during the Arian Crisis. It’s finally time to be clear we’re dealing with two different religions. Even if that means just reading the Mass as a family and praying the rosary, and traveling when possible to independent chapels and house chapels.
But this is a bad omen for the Institute, FSSP, Clear Creek, and the rest. A precedent is now set, they will all as a group almost certainty give in to blind obedience and allow themselves to be snuffed out.
Here’s some comforting words from St. Athanasius, posted by a good traditionalist diocesan priest the other day on his blog: LINK.
