Exposed to Cooovid! Under Quarantine!! Yeah Baby!!!

Call me a sheep, but after talking to the health department yesterday, prudence and the 5th commandment dictates following the guidelines.

The Mrs. was exposed to a patient the other day that turned up covid-positive, so she was told;  and I'm exposed to my wife.  So per protocol, we're under lock down.  After 5 days, get tested, if negative normal life resumes; if positive it's 5 more days.

Yeah baby.

That's me this "extended" weekend.

This is the Great Chastisement, and unless you are a holy monk or nun, odds are even the best of us traditional Catholics deserve this.

Pray, do penance, trust in God, and don't worry.  Use prudence to navigate each step of this situation.  And this situation is going to be around for a very long time in the future.  Buckle up.

This is advise I aim squarely at myself.

Living Life Under "Quarantine"

Gonna live stream the TLM Sunday, otherwise known as the Catholic Rite of Mass according to the Roman rite (props to Fr. Hesse on that distinction), via SSPX seminary in Virginia.  Note the live streamed-Masses out of St. Mary's are no longer available.

Next Saturday our plan being to attend the play Hamlet at the Shakespeare Festival in St. Mary's, KS, and due to my retarded inability to follow adequately a play by Shakespeare with any semblance of cognitive coherence (know what I mean?), we'll be watching the movie Hamlet starring Mel Gibson this lock down weekend, for prep.  That plus a couple Alfred Hitchcock movies should do us good.

This Picture Speaks For Itself

Tonight will be super-hot, wood coal grilled NY strip steak brushed with fresh rosemary dipped in ghee (rib eye is just getting way too expensive), turnip fries fried in duck fat, and an Olive Garden-style salad.

Call me a worldling, but occasional partaking of whiskey soda and cigars will accompany the next 5+ days, punctuated by praying the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and chores.

Thoughts on this Chastisement:

These are the End Times, a glorious time to be alive.  How did this come to pass?

Protestantism --> The Enlightenment --> Freemasonry --> Catholic Modernism --> Ultramontist Reaction --> Catholic Traditionalism vs. Catholic Modernism --> Vatican II called --> John XIII dies --> Paul VI elected --> Catholic Modernism takes over Council -->  Catholic Modernism takes over Liturgical Reform (i.e. to participate more fully in the liturgy) --> Novus Ordo Missae --> New Religion = Official Catholic Modernism --> Post-Modernist Revolution in Society --> "Culture of Death" and "Culture of Lust," props to JP2 (Abortion, Birth Control, Euthanasia, Sodomy, Sexual Licentiousness, Narcissism, Materialism) --> This Global Plan-demic Crisis.

There you go.

The Answer (from the Church):

1. Pray = the daily Rosary, Little Office, Frequent Confession/Communion

2. Penance = Abstain on Fridays, Digital Fasts, Almsgiving (give to trad chapel/parish, trad monastery/convent, the poor, frequent Masses with stipend for family/friends when they die).

3. Don't worry = St. Padre Pio's advise.  Plan, be prudent, but keep living life fully.  BBQs, outings, get-togethers, etc.

Be in the eye of the tornado where it is still and quiet, while surrounded by the whirlwind.

Okay, time to look up Hamlet on Amazon.  Have a blessed Fall weekend.
