My wife started attending the SSPX in 1999, me in 2007. I attended the SSPX Chapel in Tulsa from 2007-2017, where we were married, until it had to be closed, and since then we attend the SSPX Chapel in Oklahoma City when we can.
Due to the fact I am still recovering from a severe medical condition, we have only made it to OKC twice in the last three years. But early on we notified their Coordinator we were joining as members. We still receive emails from the Chapel. We will return when able, God willing.
Leo made an off the cuff final warning to the SSPX not to consecrate Bishops. The problem is mainly, according to him, that we do not accept “essential elements” of the Church.
Which is a false statement.
We’ve heard warnings from Bishop Fellay etc. to expect the SSPX Laity will be “excommunicated” too. A new report suggests Leo is seriously considering it, throwing us all out into the foggy outer domain of No-Man’s Land.
It comes across like blind, narcissistic rage, with no understanding or empathy, and hypocritical since he does nothing to the truly schismatic and heretical Church in Germany, with a few exceptions of certain bishops and dioceses there.
There is something extremely effeminate and persnickety about that dual mindset, and readiness to persecute faithful Catholics merely for seeing a canonical allowance for these emergency consecrations, while simultaneously promoting the ministry of James Martin, and enabling heretic revolutionary bishops. I do not think a real man could do something like that. It is something a liberal homosexual in power might do to their enemies out of spite.
It does continue to raise the question. Time will tell.
So to be very clear, my wife and I are members of an SSPX Chapel. We are united to it weekly. When possible with improved health, God willing, we would attend weekly, despite the four hour round trip. Despite rare attendance, we are members of this SSPX Chapel. We have remained in principe and in practice fully under the pastoral care and guidance of the Society of St. Pius X.
Therefore, if the declaration of “excommunication” applies to us also, we will write about it here and to our bishop, Bishop Konderla, that we are indeed formally united to and under the pastoral care of the Society, and formally accept and support this July 1st Episcopal Consecrations, as canonically and morally legitimate, due to this state of necessity, with zero intention to support any schismatic intent or act, which will be non-existent anyway this July 1st.
We will inform our Bishop that in the external canonical forum we have, in the declaration of Leo, incurred automatic excommunication, list our reasons why we absolutely support nothing in this act as a schismatic break with the Pope, which it will mot be.
If he judges us excommunicated, we will not receive sacraments or participate in liturgies ordinarily under the bishop, not because we believe the “excommunication” is real, or obligatory to recognize, but as to demonstrate our respect for his authority and to avoid scandal. That would be our rightful choice. To still receive sacraments at say the FSSP would materially be scandalous in the eyes of many locally, so we will not.
But we will appeal to the Bishop and Rome, to examine our case and ask them to issue a decree we never committed the ecclesiastical crime of schism, nor truly incurred excommunication.
There would be no repentance, as there is nothing in this to repent about.
And I will report on that here. If it gets lifted, or not, that goes viral, as precedent for all SSPX faithful including the priests, for merely supporting an emergency consecration with formal, public rejection of any intent to formally deny the Pope’s authority or break with him.
St. Peter lamented schism before his death as one of the greatest sins against the Church, as the disunity it produces leads people away from the Faith and the Church. In this case, it will be a material schism coming from the Leo regime aimed at traditional Catholics. We who see major, unacceptable problems with the Council and Novus Ordo, and all the scandalous decisions coming out of conciliar Rome, and therefore the emergency need for traditional bishops and traditional priests, even if denied papal permission.
The false pseudo “schism” stigma soon to be placed onto the Society to be more formal and sweeping than ever before, is only true on the other side of the line, but materially. THEY will be tearing apart the Church.
Not us.
The Pope, Pope Leo, will be tearing apart the Church for many years to come if he casts us all even beyond the outer margins into darkness.
So be it.
There will be those of us like myself that will spiritually fight back against this false material schism coming from inside the Vatican walls, to be projected back onto faithful Catholics around the world. Especially onto anybody who cannot accept the conciliar and post-conciliar doctrinal errors, and who supports the Society preserving its work by having a few new auxiliary bishops. Even if the Pope won’t grant the permission.
This narcissistic dynamic between the narcissist bully and the bullied always follows the same basic pattern, going back to bullying in the elementary school playground. It goes back to Cain and Abel. The bully envies the goodness of the innocent, lies about them through insults, then manufactures a story to paint themselves as the victim, and the true victim as the aggressor.
But if the rumors are true, even if those under that category are not members of an SSPX Chapel, THEY TOO will be “Excommunicated.”
And therefore be put between a rock and a hard place. As for me, if that happens, I will not remain silent.
These false, diabolically unjust “excommunications,” must, on one hand, be mentally disregarded as frivolous, unjust, and void, as a Badge of Honor, actually, while on the other hand, for the good of resolving the Crisis, CHALLENGED HEAD ON in Rome, by individuals like I’m prepared to do as a work of justice and mercy, and I hope also by the Society and TLM movement as a whole.
BECAUSE, if the rumors are true, MANY outside the SSPX would ALSO be “excommunicated” for “formal support.”
Even some FSSP and ICK priests. Even Mother Miriam, Bishop Strickland, or Bishop Athanasius Schneider.
This will continue to bring to a head in full public view the fact there are two Churches today within the juridical structure. The true Faith and true Church. And the false Conciliar Church, aka New Church, Ape of the Church, or the Church of Modernism.
This holy crusade of Restoration has only begun!
We are not afraid. We are willing to be persecuted for Christ’s sake. This will all one day pass.
We are ready.
P.S. Stay tuned. On the days leading up to July 1st, the day itself, and days later, I’ll be giving short updates and commentary. Make sure to watch the July 1st Consecrations on YouTube!
