Very Shady Strategy Meeting Opposing the Mosque Permit, Leading Up to the January 12th Broken Arrow Council Meeting. The Organizer Ranted Against the Catholic Church. Their Leaders Violated the Constitution and State Law. Journalists Kicked Out from a Public, Political Meeting led by State Senator Christie Gillespie (R). Did the Senator Agree? Raises A Lot of Questions

Introduction:

The city of Broken Arrow council will meet on 1/12 to decide about a permit for the mosque. If it can be built on land that is owned by an organization the federal government has named as sponsoring Hamas and terrorism. The North American Islamic Trust, with its ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, which oversees the main network of pro-jihadism, pro-terrorist organizations.  Not only in the Middle East, but across the USA.

Hello.

That isn’t a mere conspiracy theory.  That is a fact confirmed already by government and academic experts who have studied the movement.

I still expect the City will cave in and allow it.  But it’s still worth the protest in principle to be a public witness to the truth, and to counter the culture war against the Christian West.  In 2022, this Council allowed a new LGBTQ group to use city property for a “Pride Fest,” including allowing them to host a Drag Show in front of children!

You can’t make this $€{+ up.

Back then I protested/blogged about it, but was falsely told by the Vice Mayor they had to allow it due to the constitution, but also out of fear of lawsuits.  And it is ironic that she seemed the most concerned about it on the Council, which seems more interested in money and economic development than religion, culture, and morality.

Or God.

This same woman is now a state senator as of November who was at last night’s meeting, preparing to oppose this permit already recommended by the city planning committee.

BAD OMEN:

What went down at that meeting last night was a bad omen for these organized efforts in opposition, and for the community.  The community organization Constitutional Grounds, which seems to be a few locals of influence with a Facebook page, who were praiseworthy for once helping to stop the potential dictatorial Covid mask mandate in Broken Arrow, during the Plan-demic, advertised a PUBLIC, community wide strategy meeting.

Last Night’s Strategy Meeting:

They hosted it on private property in a privately owned event center, right across from the site of the proposed future mosque.  About  400-500 people attended.  Mainstream and citizen journalists attended.  The state senator gave the keynote talk, saying she would use her resources as senator on this issue, and her access to city government resources as the former vice mayor as of last November.

However, it became clear from the beginning listening closely as I did to every speaker/leader, that these tiny few had already pre-determined the strategy, and what were the issues to emphasize to the City Council on 1/12.   That reality was not announced beforehand in the public announcement.  The state senator echoed one of the other leaders that (somehow) this city issue/proposal is not about religion (!) or about issues surrounding religious liberty (!).

I doubt the pastor and congregation at Walnut Grove Church adjacent to the land to the south would agree.

Their Agenda:

The leaders were not simply giving a talk about their own personal opinions and strategy, to recruit people to persuade them the old-fashioned way to follow their approach, but essentially TELLING the 400-500 people what WAS the reality, and most central issues.  To these few political leaders (one was also a former state senator) this is really mainly about infrastructure problems, especially ones that would impede the city’s long term strategy for bringing in more commerce along that potential corridor that would run through and alongside the land of the mosque.

I mean, when a few un-elected leaders of a tiny private organization, with zero authority, plan a PUBLIC meeting inviting the whole dang city of Broken Arrow, to strategize about a critical, political issue and then when everyone arrives and is seated, the vast majority not being formal members of their little group, they bring out the state Senator, and these few leaders TELL everyone what the issue IS REALLY about, and the strategy they want everyone to follow (to focus on infrastructure issues), that is IMMORAL. It is extremely manipulative betraying way too much their own personal agenda.

The senator herself has zero legal authority to direct and control the crowd to follow her agenda.  That isn’t democracy or due process  If she’s going to exert her position as state senator, in a public political setting, she MUST have due consideration of other people’s views, opinions, and ideas.  At the very least she could have called out “everyone here who supports our strategy raise your hand,” but nothing of the sorts happened.

What she did reportedly do is direct a police officer to remove a citizen from the building merely for insisting on his legal rights to record the Q/A session.  If it was a public event, like him or not, he has a right to record, and if police are directed to essentially enforce an illegal rule by the senator, that would be seen as false reporting, obstruction, and abuse of office.  She is not an attorney, yet the man she had kicked out WAS an attorney.

Hello.

They even had everyone break up into sub groups to discuss exclusively the list of infrastructure issues that these few people created privately. Apparently no sub group was designated say to brainstorm about a) public safety, b) the dangers of Islamic politics and culture, c) the civic rights of members of Walnut Grove Church, or, you know d) that the organization that owns the dang property is a sponsor of state terrorism!!!

That would be by definition spin-doctoring, mass manipulation, or more specifically astroturfing. A few un-elected leaders of a small private organization, and a senator with zero authority to use her office to impose their agenda on a public, political, and civic gathering, giving the false pretense that if you come on out, it will be democratic, but once there it becomes essentially autocratic.

Somebody needs a refresher course in civics.

The leaders, the only ones allowed to be heard by local news outlets, brought up that what is at stake is the future site of gas stations and places of convenience as people enter Broken Arrow from the southwest, this being a “gateway” into the city, in particular south BA. The focus for them was on $$$ to all those who would benefit.  Including the need to bring in more sales tax $$$.

It came down mainly for them about physical, material reality, especially $$$.  Not about religion, preserving Christian culture, or public safety concerns.  Or God.  Or that, you know, life on Earth is also a spiritual reality.

I don’t think they even began their meeting with a prayer, much less a pledge of allegiance.

Note, the leaders did not say this is  “just the best” legal strategy, even though the implied common objection of the entire group is against the spread of Islam.  If instead it was say a storage company they wanted to build on that land, there wouldn’t have been  hundreds of people organizing in protest, the leaders hyper-focused about drainage and traffic flow issues.

The issue IS about religion. Whether you are religious or not.  Or whether you support or oppose the permit. Or whether these “leaders” will admit it forthrightly or not.

It was stated by this state senator herself that the Muslims  are free to worship as they want. She mentioned in a very general way that there is a property just to the south, obviously not mentioning the fact that property is home to a very conservative Christian church and radio station. A long time pillar of the community.   If you wanted religious and safety issues sidelined, it would make sense at that point in her otherwise vivid description of the area to characterize the church campus as just “some property to the south.”  Which she did.

If in truth it really deep down IS about Islam vs. Christianity,  just be honest and say it out loud, have honest transparency, exercise your own liberties that a) the community including their group generally, rightly objects to Islam coming into Broken Arrow because it is against the common good, our culture and morals, and against public safety and b) that the best practical, legal strategy is to emphasize infrastructure issues to avoid lawsuits over religious liberty from people like the ACLU.  When the quiet background goal is to stop a mosque in Broken Arrow.  That would be a perfectly honest, legal, constitutional, and transparent approach.

But they did not do that.  You can watch it for yourself on YouTube.  They explicitly made it clear to the crowd that this isn’t about religion, when it’s obvious to everyone and their dog that it is.  I find it incredibly vain and shady for community leaders to invite the whole community (BA is 100,000 people) to gather publicly about a public and civic issue, to strategize, and when everyone arrives, most who were actually older than these leaders by the way (60’s and above), to tell them the real reasons to oppose this mosque, and the best approach.   Like they were children being told what to think and do.

The Next Day, Fox News Coverage:

I was not surprised then to read the news the next day, today, about last night’s meeting.  The Fox News report says they were told to leave the meeting, even though this obviously meets the legal and Webster dictionary definition of a public meeting.  A social media-based citizen journalist organization called Guerilla Publishing, which has volunteers and a huge following of 97,000 online subscribers, its founder Ron Durbin was escorted off the property and humiliated by law enforcement merely because he refused to stop recording the public meeting with his CELL PHONE. I watched the entire video.  He remained civil while being man handled.

Violating the 1st Amendment Right to Free Press:

He was told to stop recording by the event leaders (legally only the property owner could do that), the recording likely to have been posted to his Facebook and YouTube accounts.   Whatever you think of citizen journalism, as a tool of political activism, it is a legal right of free press.  You'd think that would be upheld by a group calling itself Constitutional Grounds.

Dreher is an attorney and pro-constitution activist, who takes a very activist, creative approach to government corruption, having gotten a lot of push back for his bold, outspoken approach.  He posted today on the organization’s FB page that he is planning to sue.

The Organizer Gives an Anti-Catholic Rant:

It gets worse.  Last night the organizer goes on an anti-Catholic rant.  He was trying to make the point that we should be concerned about Muslims being influenced politically by foreign religious leaders.  In order to make the point, he ridiculously claims in the past the Catholic Church,  through the Pope, was wielding political power over American government and politics, but that the pope finally relinquished all political power at Vatican I around 1950!?!?!?

Sir, if you are going to suddenly, counter-productively, ridiculously publicly criticize the Catholic Church, in such a haphazard and insulting way, at the very least get your historical facts straight before you start to open your mouth.

Major red flag. Confirmed the shadiness of this meeting I already observed from the group last night.  Not to mention the guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about regarding the Catholic Church and its history in America.

My Attempt at Accountability and Transparency.  Good Luck:

So last night  I reached out to him, as the organizer.  Politely but truthfully.    I had already shared with him days ago my first blog article on this, with a link to my Catholic, Christian blog.  I tell him the “anti-Catholic rant” was not true and not factual (he tried to gaslight me denying it wasn’t an anti-Catholic rant, only my "perception"). but based on false info about the pope and Catholic Church, that the pope’s influence on American politics has always been through his spiritual authority teaching American Catholics the Church’s position on issues like slavery, worker’s rights, or abortion.

I asked for a correction and an apology to Catholics for his public statement, and he refused, insulting us yet again directly to me calling us “papists” which in the context of the exchange, on my end consistently civil, was clearly an anti-Catholic insult against American Catholics.  And me.

It would be like a bigot calling Protestants   “Prots” or “Bible thumpers” to their face, after being confronted about untrue statements about Protestantism.  I reminded him my interest in this and communications with him were as the writer of the Okie Traditionalist, a Catholic blog read by locals, but he would not be conciliatory.

It WAS a Public Event:

He also repeatedly insisted somehow it was not a public event (a ridiculous claim), falsely claiming they therefore had a legal right to stop the recording  (even of Fox News), and kick out journalists.  Major red flag.  After an excellent upbringing thanks to my parents' sacrifices, 51 years of life experience, an ungodly amount of higher education, and multiple professional careers, that doesn’t pass the smell test.  Or the intestinal test.  When it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck…it’s a duck.

And the obvious PRIVATE agenda (the duck) would be in some form or another the abuse of political position in the timeless pursuit of $$$ (greed), future infrastructure/business opportunities, materialism, and a self-serving view of the first amendment.  To be clear, this is if my nose and intestines are pointing me to the correct conclusion. Time will tell.  Others are investigating.

By the way, if the powers that be want to threaten me with a defamation lawsuit, go for it.  You will lose and I will win. The hard evidence is already public and saved.  Besides, it has been a long time since I had an active bank account with any money in it, being (temporarily) disabled with a total body pain disorder that renders me at the mercy of my hard working Filipino wife, a simple nurse tech.  So good luck with that, if so.

HERE IS THE PRIMARY REASON FOR THE CITY TO VOTE “NO”

The # 1 reason for the city to refuse the permit, and any future permit for them to build in Broken Arrow, anywhere, all in conformity with the constitution (understood through the lens of a strict constitutionalism, western common law, and natural law philosophy), that the city must and can vote NO, IS…drum roll please…to stand up to…you know….sponsors of state terrorism who own this piece of land, and groups like this one aligned and affiliated with them.

That would include closet and covert POLITICAL jihadists, and the secular left who co-opt the Islamic movement to bring down the Christian West, and traditional America.

It is likewise to uphold the kingship of Our Lord Jesus Christ over not just Christians and the Church, but over everything in creation, including government, state, and community.  Because Christ is the Lord.  Government must protect all that relates to Him, His Sacred Heart and Mystical Body the Church, and Christendom, from one of the greatest threats today to it, and that is the militant spread of the diabolical Muslim religion, and their oppressive political and cultural system.

Upholding the Natural Law:  The Natural Law Protects God and Man, an Integral Part of the Civil Law and Government:

This legal  defense is not even per se from biblical or church law, but from the natural law, the moral law written on the human heart, that has its same source in the same Creator.  When you see everything that Christ represents, also understood on the human level of natural law, then the government must defend everything in society that is good, true, and beautiful, which in essence means protecting what He stands for.  The city of Broken Arrow has every right and duty to do that.

Terrorism, jihad, abuse of women and children, pedophilia, murder, murder in the name of religion, hatred and retaliation to your enemies (vs. love and forgiveness of your enemies, combined with legal justice) etc, all wound the heart of Christ.  All of this deeply offends Him.

Yet at the very same time, it all offends God on a philosophical and cultural level, the divine goodness implanted into our natural rights.  Our Founding Fathers understood this.  This is especially the Catholic understanding (though not exclusively so) of how a government even in a religiously pluralistic society must defend God by defending the natural rights of human beings and the community.  Like the unborn.  Or the right of children to not have two parents of the same sex who simulate marriage.

There is the natural right to: a) not have a new Mosque tower adjacently to your own institution of nearly 50 years creating a permanent state of danger, on many levels (also illegal per city zoning ordinance 1-1-3, B and E), b) of the community not to be in long term danger on many levels from a Muslim group/property owner with ties to state jihadism and terrorism, c) the right of women and children not to be beaten or treated like second class citizens, etc, etc.

All of this is 1000% more important in civic, legal cases like this than septic tanks, traffic flow, or another shopping center in the endless, materialist sea of shopping centers.  Ironically, if the city approves their mosque, one small silver lining from this would be to slow down the endless expansion of concrete and commercial buildings in that area alongside the turnpike.  Our infrastructure being as ungodly as Sodom. Do we really need yet another restaurant, Quicktrip, or dispensary? Nearly everything is oriented towards hedonism, pleasure, and convenience (just like Sodom).

More sales taxes to fund local government doesn’t even remotely justify building infrastructure endlessly spreading out in all directions decade after decade.  When does that expansion stop exactly?  The geography of our natural environment has limits after all.

Hello.

Follow up to Senator Gillespie. Will She Disavow the Historically False, Completely Unnecessary Anti-Catholic Comments of Her Co-organizer?

I am following up my email today to the senator, asking her to read this, and publicly disavow herself from a) the anti-Catholic remarks from the organizer she is collaborating with, still posted on Youtube, b) apologize for those remarks, on behalf of her co-organizer, who refused to apologize for his remarks, c) admit it was a public event, and d) therefore that freedom of the press and use of cell phone video should have been upheld to avoid looking like you are not being transparent to the community, as if something is possibly being hidden.  And maybe if she sincerely apologizes, they won’t get sued by Dreher who has a strong case.

I reminded the Constitutional Grounds guy 8% of Okies are Catholic.  That’s nearly 1 in 10.  Plus I expect a greater percentage in the cities, especially BA the 3rd largest city in Oklahoma.  He said nothing.  I hope the senator herself shows she cares about nearly one out of every ten people in her constituency. A lot of Okies and local Catholics read this blog.

In Oklahoma, the statute guarantees the right of every citizen at a public event to video and audio record that event on their cell phone.  It is a one party consent state.  Verify that with the legal department, or heck ask AI.  Fox News and Dreher were “participating in the conversation,” the law only requiring their own consent to record. I will be contacting the senator’s office today for comment.

???

Otherwise, the conclusion would be she is on some level okay with or indifferent to public acts of anti-Catholicism by political leaders, or breaking the constitution, and state law about cell phone use.  It would raise a lot of questions what their agenda really is.   Or she can correct here for the record what happened. I will update either way.

THE BOTTOM LINE.  THE NEED RIGHT NOW TO BE STRONG, TO HAVE COURAGE!

The bottom line is EVEN IF they deny the permit, because of  the infrastructure issues (I’m giving it a 5% chance they vote No), the Muslims eventually will find other land in BA and re-apply.  THAT is the reality.   So don’t wait until then.  Expect persistence.

The Mole = any Mosque

With ties to Terrorism or

Anti-American Jihad.

NOW is the time then to stand up and be brave, and like Gandalf in Lord of the Rings, tell the enemy “Though shalt not pass.”  And mount a huge, legal defense with the best of constitutional lawyers and academic scholars.  Take it to the state or federal Supreme Court if you have to.  Create a legal fund.  Wealthy conservative Christians will donate.    Somebody has to do this across our nation.

Be inspired by the heroic Charlie Kirk who died a martyrs death.  Do not be afraid, as the Bible teaches in many places.  Be strong!  Think of your grandchildren, great grandchildren, and beyond.

And as long as this particular group has verified ties to jihadism and terrorism being spread here from the Middle East, from its most oppressive nations, and to an anti-American movement, and teaches beliefs that objectively lead to illegal acts (child wives, polygamy, beating of children and wives, pedophilia, harassment, assault and even murder of Jews and Christians, stealing, etc, etc)), creating a grave state of public danger long term, violating public safety, then the city council (and any city council) can and must deny a permit to build:

ON POLITICAL, CULTURAL, and PUBLIC SAFETY GROUNDS, to help avoid lawsuits, WHILE ONCE and FOR ALL HAVING the COURAGE to RISE ABOVE POLITICAL CORRECTNESS and DEFEND and PRESERVE the WEST and TRADITIONAL AMERICA.  IN OUR OWN COMMUNITY.
