The Chastisement. Like a Warm Blanket on a Cold Winter Day

If it takes divine justice to achieve divine mercy, as the means to true Christian peace, and that divine justice is world war and famine, even if that means my family and I get incinerated by a nuclear blast, that thought is like a warm blanket on a cold winter day.

Might sound nutty to the mind that doesn’t carry that logic through to its end, but I yearn for the era of peace. Hope to see it in my lifetime.  And wouldn’t that be glorious?

So as abhorrent as monkey pox, covid, rapidly increasing inflation, the constant daily escalation toward nuclear war, Russia (and China) warning the West of retaliation, the near daily mass shootings, plans to seize guns across the country, etc, etc, this Chastisement gives me comfort.  Because divine justice brings me comfort. Because it is the means to true peace.
