Fall Battles: Hunting, the Election, and Small Claims Court

I praised in a recent post the seemingly competition-inspiring nature of Fall.  During the Fall we pick sides supporting our favorite football team.  Men break out their camouflage and ammo to hunt turkey and deer.  And every four years two presidential candidates go head-to-head up to Election Day on November 3rd.

There is something about Fall and the competitive spirit Nature seems to bring out in us.   I think it goes back to the primordial need to survive harsh weather conditions.

And so that dynamic happens to be unfolding for me personally this Fall.  Perhaps it goes back to a particularly oppressive situation I dealt with last summer, which I need not go into, which awakened in me a deeper level of self-preservation than I am accustomed.

Hunting

I've gone deer hunting three times before.  The closest I came to bagging a deer was having a big buck in my cross hairs for a nanosecond before he darted off in the blink of an eye.  This year, having a new shotgun, I'm going turkey as well as deer hunting.  Scouted out last weekend a strategically chosen corner of some nearby Wildlife Management Area, and set up a deer blind.

This Saturday being opening day of Turkey season, I will be armed with multiple bird calling devices hitting the woods before sunrise, with visions of bagging a gobbler for the Thanksgiving table (pics will be posted).

I am absolutely determined to kill both a turkey and a deer this season.  And I will post pics here.

Yessir.

The Election

One of the most exhilaratingly pleasureable experiences is standing outside a Notre Dame football stadium on game day tail-gating--I experienced that once, Rudy style.   Another was late Election night 2016, when #'s started coming in showing Trump was coming back to win.

And this year, right now, I feel that electricity.  Even though I blogged my thoughts anticipating God does not deliver a "second miracle" this time around, with only six days to go it is as if we are in the eye of the tornado.  A lot can happen in that time, as it often does at the very end of the election campaign.   After all, often football games are won with a major come back in the last few minutes, sometimes decided in overtime.

So I wear my Trump hat, and engage anyone I cross paths with about the election.  By the way, if you are one of those Never-Trumpers who is thinking to not vote for either Trump or Biden, especially if you are in one of the swing states, you must vote!

For the sake of:  God, Christian morality, the unborn child, the preservation of marriage and the family, and the Social Kingship of Christ.

Trump is far from perfect, but if Biden wins, it will be the Communist States of America, and I will blame it in part on you.

So vote!

Small Claims Court

And I'm going to take a moment to brag.  I won this morning in small claims court.  I won't go into the details, but when the law is on your side, not to mention reason, and you lay out your documented facts in a clear, linear, logical way, odds are high you will win.

So next time the roofer, plumber, or mechanic screws you over, use the possibility of going to small claims court as leverage.   I put maybe eight hours into the process total, and came out well compensated.

There's just something invigorating, re-awakening, primordial, and for men testosterone-boosting about this time of year.

Pence Won the Debate. Cause for Hope, and More Prayers.

As I write this, the debate is almost over.   In my opinion, any personal support for Trump aside, Pence won the debate hands down.  This is a very good turn around since the last debate.  I think pundits will make that clear in the days ahead.  Here are my thoughts on the debate.

1. Biden's running mate acted extremely immature throughout the debate.  Her sarcastic sneers and hateful tone towards Pence/the Trump side was transparent to everyone, especially the thinking element that is the 10% "undecided voter."  Frankly, she acted like a Femi-Nazi, and I am sure the undecided saw that.  She only showcased her radical leftist personality, supporting the Trump claim that a Biden presidency spells radical leftism for the whole country going forward.  That woman did not act even remotely in a stately way becoming of the office of Vice President (or President, since the Vice President is a potential President).

2.  Pence on the other hand was consistently stately, objective, respectful, rational, laying out facts, following the nature of what a debate is.  He did not give into the sanitized "conversation" that was attempted to be imposed on him.  He was a gentleman, which made him the winner hands down.  Americans as human beings, instinctively according to their nature as human beings, saw through the baloney from the Left, and the intellectual honesty of the Trump ticket.

3. A last thought, the moderator, though less rabid than Chris Wallace, showed a liberal double standard showing bias against Pence.  Many times she said "thank you" to indicate Pence should finish, but then she wouldn't let him complete his sentence or thought;  whereas, she consistently let the other side keep talking on and on with little or no correction.  Typical liberal media hypocrisy.  Hopefully the 10% undecided will see through the BS.

Pence definitely won, which gives some hope, but we need to pray more and more these next 27 days.   God does work in mysterious ways, and everything is according to His Plan.  Time will tell.
